Location: MO | What are everyone's favorite split reins? Weighted, or non-weighted? Flat, or rounded? Looking for a new pair for training. I find that mine don't tend to have a great grip or feel in my hands. |

Location: South Georgia | Shallow Creek Bits. Not weighted. I get mine extra long--8'. I get flat 5/8". They are soft and supple. |

Location: North Dakota | I like the leather split reins that Equine Oasis sells. They have a buttery soft feel to them, a good weight, and they aren't too thick for my hands. |

Location: Dearing, GA | I like a heavy, flat split rein for everything except a competition run. And if I could get coordinated enough to run in them then, I would! I bought mine from NRS. They aren't as heavy as I anticipated, but I have a good feel with them. |

| I like 5/8" flat and weighted or non weighted depending on the horse and the work I am doing. If I am trying to get some long and low in my conditioning work I like weighted. I prefer Amish made.

Location: Illinois | I use the Reinsman Camarillo ones. I've had my everyday ones for 14 years now, they feel like home in my hands. I have some other pairs on my other bits, but I generally use my same snaffle on all horses daily. They are weighted on the ends, perfect lenght for any height of horse. And if I want to throw a martingale on one for a day I don't have to switch reins, it's already set up. I just keep the martingale hanging in the tack room. So they're really versatile for me |

| I love my NRS brand split reins. The 3/4" are too thick for my small hands, I use the 5/8" ones and they're perfect. |

| Hands down for me the Buckaroo Leather lined reins. Spendy, but oh so worth it! Love them |

| Everyone thinks I'm lying when I say I bought mine for $30 from Jeffers. Super soft, weighted ends. I LOVE these and recommend them! https://www.jefferspet.com/products/heavy-oiled-split-reins |

| I have several pairs of split reins, but my absolute favorites are the Stacy Westfall ProTack split reins. I've had the pair for close to 10 years and they're my absolute favorite. I like the buckle ends on them, makes them super easy to change from bit to bit, and they are weighted nice and lay flat, makes it easier to adjust while riding. I tend to move them from bit to bit so none of my other pairs are really broken in yet, maybe that's why I stick with these LOL |
