Looking at a 2007 Dodge diesel with 180,000 miles. The miles don't scare me, but I was wondering about the engine? 

If it was maintained correctly, its the best year Cummins engine ever made! I had an 07 that went 500,000+ miles essentially trouble free! THat 5.9 is a beast!

I agree - an awesome truck!

If it has a 5.9, they're awesome!!!! HOWEVER, you need to have it checked for blow by. These engines are prone to it. 

If you want to test blow by, do it yourself. It takes 3 seconds. Take oil cap off and set it upside down on the oil fill hole. Start the engine a s see if the cap blows off.

07.5 was the first 6.7 and it was a complete disaster stock

the 6.7 is a great engine, and the 5.9 was a great engine.
