Has anyone used the Underwoods Wound Spray with Baking Powder?  If so what does the baking powder do?

Put the Underwoods in a ketchup bottle like you would buy for a picnic at the dollar store.  Then squirt it on.  Then put the baking powder in one too and poof it on.  The baking powder just acts like a cover for the Underwoods.  Don't wash off.  Keep doing this until the wound closes and shrinks up.

It works.  I would cheat sometimes and once every 4 days or so, wash the leg etc and do it all again.  Just to make sure it was healing.

I put my under woods in a spray bottle and the baking powder in a condiment bottle so it poofs on  The BP acts as a bandage to keep meds in and dirt etc a out. Each layer is like a scab to protect the wound.

Have two horses that Inderwoods left a bad scar from a chemical burn. Vetericyn is the best stuff I have ever used. Heals from inside out like it should.

Yes, after several days of Vetricyn and not seeing improvement in a sore, I switched to Underwoods and baking powder. The baking powder just kinda seals in (but it can still breathe) the spray. And the underwoods spray sticks in place really well on its own, by the way.

I've used underwoods multiple times. Works best with baking powder. I put my baking powder in a turkey baster. It works good. Also, I'm my experience, this stuff is best for fleshy wounds. The more you can apply it in a day, the better it works. Using it on anything below the knee, its worthless.

Here is a would we treated with it. It's the only stuff we used and only got it applied once a day. The last photo was Aug 22.

Not sure, I used it on a fetlock wound and it was fantastic.

Thanks everyone for chiming in.  I also have used "The Pink Stuff" and had good results.  This has been a long healing process as I am not sure exactly what it is/was and neither was the Vet.  She was out 2 weeks ago and tried some skin off and cleaned it out.  Originally thought it was a capped elbow that burst open but she was inclined to think it was a sarcoid.  Anyway she said to put toothpaste on it.  Toothpast has done nothing.  The swelling is shrinking and the hole is shrinking just taking a long time.  I also heard to maybe try that Dry Cow treatment called Tomorrow.  I have some of that.

How long did you use the toothpaste?  It does take a while.  As long as it is shrinking, and the hole is shrinking, I would continue to use it.

But the Underwoods does work too.

I used the toothpast for two weeks morning and night.  It was doing okay but then the flies returned.

Worked amazing on my mare who had a big flesh wound on her side. She healed up great. Was a bit spectacle at first with the baking soda but it worked!
