I just can't believe some of the stuff I've heard and read, lots of videos etc etc that have been sent my way... some of it seems crazy and then again, some of it makes perfect sense ... I think a lot of people are holding their breath.... should be interesting for sure.

WAs thinking about going to a barrel race Wednesday night if the weather is ok but my traveling partner pointed out / reminded me it was the inauguration.  Even though we live in a pretty rural area it might just be a good time to stay home, off the roads and out of towns.  Sad!

I think it will be like the year 2000 everyone was fretting about ......a huge non-event.

If not, this is simply what happens when you blatantly steal an election.  Expect some backlash.

I was in my son's room last night putting some clothes away while he was taking a bath. The TV was on and he had it on Nickelodeon. I wasn't paying much attention until I heard the word "Impeachment" I turned around to see... it was a kid talking about Donald Trump and why he was being impeached for a 2nd time. She said there are always consequences for your actions and since DT incited violence on January 6th at the Capital building he's is being impeached, then went on to educate how the process works. Made me want to vomit what's going on, the brainwashing. I don't mind the education part of explaining what an impeachment is and how the process works but tossing in the dig at DT  to a young crowd doesn't sit well with me. Keep it neutral, is all I'm saying.  I homeschool my kids and I had them watching the live showing on January 6th. Never thought in a million years we would see that go down, but I left it on and we watched. My 9 year son said wow, they just let those people walk right in, where are the police?? He asked is it really that easy to just walk inside that building?  We watched from the very beginning till the end.  He asked why the police outside let them in and then the chaos erupted inside, after the fact. We will be watching this week, its part of history.... even if I think it's terrible, it's still history and I want them to see it with their own eyes so it can't be rewritten or diluted, or misconstrued.

It's no exaggeration at all. They are really pushing their political sides/beliefs onto the youth now more than ever. We talk to our kids ALOT about what's going on, I want them to be able to think for themselves,  not form opinions just by what they see or hear on TV by one side or the other. Learn how to read between the lines and be able to listen to BOTH sides and make their own opinion. Yes, we are conservatives, my husband's folks are democrats, always have been and always will be, but they let their kids form their own opinions, didn't push one way or another.  So my husband is conservative with 2 of his sisters,  the other is a Democrat. It just works. There is no squabbling over it. They respect each other and that's that. My family comes from a long line of conservatives, but I don't recall my parents ever pushing their beliefs on me...  I pulled my kids from public school approximately 3 months before the covid thing hit. Homeschooling isn't for the faint of heart or for those with little patience but the ways things are going I'm believing this was the best decision I could have made for them.

I heard a theory that liberals may move to condemn home schooling.   Now I understand why.

They will. Expect home and charter schools to face issues under the incoming administration.

Homeschooling in Texas is protected by law. I joined the Texas Homeschool Coalition because I had so many questions and wanted to learn what my rights were and how I could do this . Homeschooling is considered "private schooling" at least in Texas it is. I'm also part of a homeschool co-op group that gets together and does lots of fun extras, field trips and extra studies. So far, while I'm not going to sit here and say it's perfect, but I do not have a single regret for pulling them out. The school did not make it easy on me and tried to convince me I was making a mistake, I had to jump thru some hoops but I got it done and them off my back with a little help from THSC.

The things said and shown on the regular news anymore are as crazy as a lot of the conspiracy theory stuff.

I hate all of this, but tomorrow I will wake up and go to work just like any other day. I do not plan to watch the inauguration.

I've had to back off social media, I love conspiracy theories but it's some of them are getting way too out there for me.
