We are planning a trip to Ft Worth Will Rogers Memorial Center for a show in June.

Everyone is excited! We are coming from up North and our horses aren't used to Texas heat/humidity.

Which stalls are the coolest?

Where do you prefer to stall and why?

Other tips to keep horses comfortable?

Trailer parking?

Best place to stay close  to Ft Worth Will Rogers Memorial Center?

Anything else we should know?

    Thanks!!

I've shown for many years at breed shows in Fort Worth at Will Rogers spending 7 - 10 days at a time there.  We prefer Cattle Barn 4. It is quieter for the horses and has more air flow. It's not as 'nice' as the other barns, but the quiet and air flow over-rule 'nice' in my opinion. The floors are mostly dirt with a bit of concrete edge. We always use stall mats and set up stall fans.  We bed deep with shavings, too.  When I've had a really big horse, I rented two stalls and removed the center panel.  As long as you put the panel back when you leave it's okay.  We also rent a tack/grooming stall and set it up with stall mats. We try really hard to keep them off the asphalt/concrete except for walking back and forth to arenas.  And we use standing wraps every night.

I think we were in cattle barn 4 but it was for people who had come for one or two nights. It does get hot in Ft Worth. I would put couple of fans on each stall. The trailer parking is a across the street. Not full hook ups. They don't let anyone in that place so your stuff is safe. You have to pay for a pass, which I like. You have to leave the grounds to go where you trailer is parked. We were just there for the nights and the may be some full hook ups. Think ours was water and electric.  We just decided to park out in the middle of the empty parking lot and run the generator. We got a ticket so not a real good idea. Your RV space and the gate pass should be with your entry form.

If you are staying at a hotel google hotels near Will Rogers coliseum. That's not the best part of town but you should find something along the interstate
