| I am just outside of Raleigh. I think we are pretty fortunate here that we are really close to lots of barrel races. We are just a couple hours to Lexington, Williamston, Asheville, Perry GA. You can be a weekend jackpot rider and find something nearly every weekend, rodeo, NBHA, whatever you want. We also are "home" to lots of good riders or we host big shows that some of the best on the east coast go to, so most weekends you're running against the same top dogs you'll run with at the nbha super shows, world, etc. It's a pretty good gauge of where you'll fall. I only mention that because we've met people that relocated from somewhere that were 1D where they came from, and come here and they are 3-4D riders. I keep my horses at home, so am not very helpful with the boarding situation. Leslie Ramsdell in Dunn, not far from Raleigh is a trainer, not sure if she does straight up board though. Not sure if you're in need of training assistance either, but she's a great one to use, in the event you do. Welcome if this is where you end up! Where are you moving from? |
