Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | If you feel you have to go with oil, look into HealthyCoat.. I dont like oil with all this heat during the summer months, oil spoils/gets rancid real fast if not stored in a climate control area. |

Location: the land of dust & sticks | Healthy coat is way more omega 6 than omega 3. I was told that too much omega 6 could lead to inflammation and myvet recommended higher 3 lower 6. I was using healthy coat until this and it was helping his itching I think? I’ve since switched to ground flax seed and he’s back itching worse....frustrated |

| CEP has an oil called Vitality that is pure flaxseed oil with added E and they have vitality plus with added B12 .. zero fillers and the correct ratios you're looking for. |

| Cocomega has the ration of 3 to 6 you are probably looking for. It is in granula form. I have used Cocosoya too because of the 3 to 6 ratio, not keen on the soybean oil but my picky, picky old horse would only eat it. He did really well on it. |

Location: the land of dust & sticks | He gets FRM cool balance grain, alfalfa cubes, perennial peanut and coastal hay, grass. Nothing has changed in diet in the last yr. this is the same horse that was itching dec/Jan when it was 30 degrees out. I had him under control until it was recommrnded to me to stop the healthy coat and start ground flaxseed. Now here we are again 2 weeks later itching like a fool. |

Your current feed has several sources of soy in the ingredient list. While most horses handle some soy in their diet, I see a lot of horses have an allergic reaction to it. Eliminate all soy, wheat and corn from the diet, and I think the itching problem will resolve. as to your omega 3 to 6 ratio, if you take your grain based feed out, your ratio will come much closer to being in line when the roughage part of your diet is considered.

Location: North Dakota | My mom put one of our geldings on Majesty horse cookies, she did the Hoof one but they do make an Omega one. He had a hock infection and was pumped full of antibiotics and it just killed his hooves and coat quality. After a year, he looks amazing, so I am keeping him on it. I started my other horse on the Hoof cookie too and put my other horse on the Flex (joint support) cookie. I love the concept of quickly giving them a cookie. Don't have to mess with mixing powders or worry about liquids freezing in the North Dakota winter. Super super easy. No one local has them so we just order from Chewy. Here's the omega one. |
