Our Santa Gertrudis cows are racist, but the bull isn't. The girls are really mean to any outsider. When we get a new Santa Gertrudis heifer/cow they are rough on her for a couple months when feeding cake to them, but then they settle down. But if a different breed/crossbred gets in with them they are mean and never quit being mean. Poor corriente cows get their butts kicked every time, lol.

Re:  Racist chickens....I raised a new mixed batch of pullets which were black astralorps, sussex leghorns, lavender orphingtons, a blue sappire and a silver spangled  Hamburg. There were no red chickens in the bunch.  I raised 3 guinea hen chicks with them which turned out to be , I beleive a hen and 2 cocks...In the old batch of hens were a couple of Rhode Island reds with black astralorps.  I moved the young bunch in with the old ones at night to minimize any conflict....the guinea hen female took real issue with the rhode Isand red hens and wouldn't let them out of the henhouse for several days...some of the others would join in with her leading to chase the red hens...I stood in the pen with a broom for about an hour getting after the guinea hen for going after the red hens... I felt like the guards back in the 60's when the first black students were admitted to the university in Alabama...this eased somewhat, afrer a few days and getting after the aggressors...now several weeks after the move, things are mostly peaceful.... perhaps it shows how inheritantly primitive the distrust of those who seem different than us really is....Let me be clear....this is NOT an excuse for racism, just an interesting observation....

I don't know about racist chickens but this wanker of a rooster hates me on a very deep personal level... his days are numbered and he will be joining a few others in freezer camp if things don't improve...I have to carry a shovel into that pen. He's nasty....

I had a rooster like this too, and no matter how much I knocked the cra* outta of him he would always come back and try to attack me are who ever was out in the yard, I have knocked him out more then a few times and I would have though he would stop his shi* after just about killing him a few times. I raised him from a tiny chick and this dumb rooster was a nut case, I just think he was not right in the head, I also had to carry a shovel around when he was out, I finally got a good heavy walking stick and FINALLY i had enought of his cra* one day and when he came running at me when my back was turned (Had my stick) and I spun around and threw my stick at him as hard as I could and nailed him in the head he staggerd and the other rooster when to working on him I had to pull him off telling him you did good now hes coyote food. This went on for more then two years, I finally finished him off befor he could spur me again, I was worried about the grandkids more, but when they were here I didnt let him out of the pen. That sucker got to meet his maker!!!

Your rooster has the same eye mine did, always had that stink eye look when he looked at me. My other rooster is just a sweet guy, and now have another rooster that was supposed to be a pullet, (eye roll here)

Darn Wyndotte rooster... I raised him too. I'm down to 3 roosters including him... we just culled one out in the back pen.. because he came at me when my back was turned... he had never done it before.. but his fate was sealed because he had a go at me while I was leading my horse out of the barn! He wouldn't stay in his pen, always jumping over the fence to come into the barn... I turned to kick him and he jumped so I'd miss... (think matrix) I tied my horse back up and went and got my .22 he tried to chase me into the shed too.. soon as he saw that gun he booked it to the neighbors pasture lol!! Unfortunately for him.... I have a ton of patience and I just sat and waited for him to return...  that was it for him... can't have that... imagine if I was under my horse... cleaning feet or wrapping and he came after me?? I'd get trampled.. no way!!! Now I have a silkie rooster, bantam... he comes after my feet but he's so small and has no spurs and is harmless ... he doesn't even attempt to breed the hens ... but he thinks he's big.. when he "hits" me it feels like a light tap lol!! I just shove him out the way with my foot and he leaves..

The silkie sounds like a yapping Chihuahua, they always think they are bigger then they think, ha ha ha ha.. And I love my chihuahua's lost my girl last year, but she was a mighty little bugger she though.

A farmer buys a rooster to service his 200 hens. When he gets the rooster into the barnyard, he tells him, "Randy, I want you to pace yourself now. You've got a lot of chickens to service here, and you cost me a lot of money. Have fun, but take your time."

The farmer points him toward the henhouse and the rooster takes off like a shot.

WHAM! Randy nails every hen in the henhouse, three or four times. Randy runs out and sees a flock of geese down by the lake. WHAM! He nails all the geese. Randy runs to the pigpen, the cow pasture -- soon, he's been on every animal on the farm.

The farmer is distraught, worried that his expensive rooster won't even last the day.

Sure enough, the farmer wakes up the next morning to find Randy laid out flat in the middle of the yard, buzzards circling overhead.

The sad farmer shakes his head and says, "Oh, Randy, I told you to pace yourself."

Randy opens one eye, glares and nods towards the sky..."Quiet you fool....they're getting closer."

No, it's Vanessa.  But I laughed so hard I snorted the first time I heard this joke and all the talk of naughty roosters reminded me of it.

I have noticed that sometimes animals have their "prefences" too. Don't know that I would call it racist, but sometimes - something just trips their trigger - for whatever reason.

I had a stallion that ABSOLUTLY refused to breed a black mare, no matter how in heat she was. Total refusel no matter what you tried.   But he was extra excited by a palomino or a grey.......go figure...

I also had a dog that hated a colored person for some reason. Never could figure out why. I raised it from a pup, and he never had a bad experience with anyone that I knew of. When black or mexican friends were going to stop by - they always called first. Usually, I kinda pay attention when a dog doesn't like someone because it often says something about their character - but this dog just flat out didn't like someone with a darker skin tone.

To be honest, in my everyday life, I have been very often faced with the manifestation of double standards. As for racism, I can say that it has become a little less compared to, for example, in the 20th century, and even more so in the 19th century, but still there is a manifestation of it. On the site https://samplius.com/free-essay-examples/racism/ I recently read very interesting essays about racism and those contemporary manifestations of racism that we can observe in modern society.

Ha! So funny that stallions can have that reaction!! My stallion would rather kill a palomino mare than breed her, serious hatred for white tail?? But buckskin mares are his weakness and he always gets himself a light remprimand at shows because he can't help but take a look at them (which is not allowed at shows). So black tails are ok, but white tails not?? It's the same body color, so . . . ?? He's definitely racist!
