I've been having health issues for about three years I'm 55 and have very low white blood cells at 2.0 I go in monthly to draw blood but it stays the same but once about six months ago my husband chewed out my Dr for not finding what's wrong with me so the Dr checked for bone marrow cancer but I came back clear but now I'm starting to bald and it's not something that runs in my family and I live on the southern border where it's impossible to get a good Dr does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

First thing you need to do is set up an appointment in a different town with GOOD DOCTORSYou are not getting any information that has changed anything.

Have you been checked for Lupus?Do you have constant bad diareah? If you do,you are most likely suffering from some type of malnutrition order. With a low WBC,you are definatly at odds with an autoimmune disease of some type.

YOUR HEALTH IS UP TO YOU,you MUST travel to a different place for tests and treatments,so do it :))) Make a little trip ,and stay all nite if its a long drive.I dont blame your husband for getting mad at the doctor, hes the one that deals with this on a daily basis as well.

Now,get going, set down, make a list of doctors, write everything down, take all your test results with you that you already have,AND GOOD LUCK.

I suggest that you go out of state to a doctor that specialized in cases like yours if you want to get to the root of your problem, we have awesome doctors here in Texas.. I would not trust border town doctors for something as seriuos as your case. You have San Antoino, Houston, Dallas. You will have to travel but its worth it for your health.

When were you first diagnosed with a low white cell count?  ("Leucopenia").
I assume you had a bone marrow biopsy and I assume it was normal.
It's interesting that they asked about a family history of Lupus, but they didn't test you for it.
Do you know if you have an enlarged spleen?
Have you had a CT scan?
I assume they reviewed all the medications you are taking.  Some meds can cause this.
Do you have any symptoms of Lupus?  Do you have any symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis?  Any joint pain?
There is a form of Rheumatoid Arthritis called Felty's Syndrome that includes symptoms of RA, plus enlarged spleen, a low white count ("neutropenia"), and abnormal hair loss can be seen.
It would be easy enough to test for Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.  You might want to ask about that.

The list of causes for an abnormally low white count is lengthy.  Someone needs to play doctor and rule out all the possible causes.  The normal bone marrow biopsy is encouraging.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I got to thinking since you said that you are having hair loss issues, Have you had your Thyroid Checked? I dont think it would have anything to do with white blood cells, but the hair loss made me think about your Thyroid. I'm on Thyroid meds. never had hair loss but had other issues going on. Check out Hypothyroidism Symptoms.

It seems to me that it is better for you to consult with doctors, because on the Internet they can advise you on all sorts of nonsense regarding health. In general, I believe that we need to maintain our health. I know that I have minor joint problems and sometimes they hurt. In such cases I use cbd cream, which gives a feeling of relief very quickly.

Have you had a full thyroid panel? Check for antibodies and for Hashimoto's.

I hate to say Google your symptoms but it could give you ideas and then you can demand the tests you need if you can't travel to better doctors. You're going in monthly for them to draw blood but they still don't know what is wrong? My mother had blood cancer. Leukemia. But her white blood cells were high. That's how they found it. Thankfully you don't have that. You may have something that's quite treatable but you haven't been feeling good for three years. I'm glad your husband started screaming. I hope you figure it out and feel better soon!
