| Are there any alfalfa pellets or cubes that are not made with bentonite? I know what bentonite is and what it does etc etc .... I know it's not terrible for them but I'm curious if there are any out there without the binder in it. After believing in standlee for years, bentonite is not listed on the ingredients but I was told recently in an email that they do use it in their pellets and cubes. After a bad bag I had purchased that wouldn't soak like it normally does. I inquired and that's when they told me they use bentonite. |

Theres more out there I know just google and see what is listed on the bags.. I know Hay rite uses the Bentonite, they list it as bentonite mineral on the ingredients. Some companys are sneaky and wont list it on their bags as a binder at all. |

| I don't think Mustang Sally cubes use it, they fall apart very easily |

I found pride of the high plains today in a neighboring town. They didn't have the pellets but they had the cubes so I grabbed a few bags. They smell great and seem nice, soft and clean. |

Thats great!!! Hope they work out for you, they soak really fast too if you like soaking them, I dont do the soaking since they break up pretty easy, I use to soak them but my old tooth-less donkey likes them dry, the horses I think like them better dry too, I think, lol. I have been using these cubes for about 4 years now, dont have a complaint about them at all, but every once in a while I'll find a tiny piece of twine in a cube, but very little so I just kinda watch out for them when I'm digging the cubes out of the barrel. I dont think they make them in the pellets, I have never seen them in the pellet form. I just get the Alfalfa Nibbles from BlueBonnet for the pelleted. |

I started feeding these about a year ago and my horses LOVE them!! So soft and they actually love them as a treat! Also I think BlueBonnets Alfa Niblets are free of binders? but I can't find the tag to check for sure... those are a small pellet |

| They do make pellets but not all places will carry them according to their website. No biggie... I soak everything for my horses anyway. They actually prefer it over dry feed and my vet just recently told me that's actually the best thing for them .. especially during winter to help keep the gut moving and keeping the non drinkers extra hydrated. It's a PITA but small sacrifice in the scheme of things lol. I did see that video of the cube soaking in the glass, pretty cool! These cubes I'm hoping will replace the alfalfa hay in my program because I've been having heck securing good alfalfa around here. And it's a bit easier to control the amount of alfalfa each horse gets too. Thanks for the recommendations on the cubes! I'm actually surprised I was able to find these in that tiny town.. I had no idea there was even a feed store there lol |

When I saw that video I was like wow, so thats when I sent a Email asking what they use as a binder and thats when they told me they dont use binders they use steam to cube up the alfalfa, I didnt think about asking if they made the pellets, good to know that they do. |

Well thank you! Lol! My chickens finally picked up on their egg laying again after a rough molt! Seemed like forever. One good thing around here I always have at least a few dozen available. |
