Hey Y'all!!
I have a brand new Deb Sibley saddle and have a question about the best saddle pad to use. My horse is a 14 yr. old QH paint who is barrel shaped and a bit over weight. I am currendtly using a Classic Equine Wool Saddle pad 3/4". I am having issues with it rolling. I wanted to see if anyone has some suggestions. If you own a Deb Sibley, what is your favorite pad(s)?
I have 3 deb sibleys, but mine are all Panther Creeks. I use saddle rights under 2 of them usually or diamond wool pad (if field riding as its bright orange, so we dont look like a deer). The other has just a prof choice pad under it, as its my colts and she has yet to earn herself a saddle right pad.
I'm using a ½" 5 star pad
Ive owned sibleys for 13ish years... all panther canyon but have used a lot of different pad setups. I currently use a SPH and thats my favorite so far.
However, I used a 3/4 5 star, CSI and a basic Weaver one. Honestly the Weaver was my second favorite.
I didn't have problems with rolling with my Honey Creek Debra Sibley, but it did slide back for a while. Used a Saddleright pad, and that eliminated the sliding. Now that the saddle is broke in and conformed more to my horse, I think I could use about any pad . Love the saddle! It's worth the pad problems to get it broke in.
