Does anyone know what the barrel race/rodeo scene is like in the Wellington area? Does it even exist? I'm possibly moving for my job and have found it's mostly dressage/jumping/polo. I'm honestly considering not going if I can't ride so I want to know as much as possible before making a decision. Thanks for any info!

I'm know we had a few girls who went down for WPRA rodeos but that's it.

There are a lot of barrel races in FL.  PacWest, Legends of the South, Reality Ranch, Big NBHA, Fast Cash, Tour of Champions,

Big races and weekday/weekend jackpots too.  Wellington proper is a lot of English, but it isn't far to other areas scattered all over the state.

You’re right, Wellington is predominately dressage, jumping, and polo. It’s amazing though, multimillion-dollar farms. I love driving through there. Palm Beach Equine (Wellington) is an amazing veterinarian facility where there’s probably 10-15 different veterinarians practicing there. I have a good friend that lives in Wellington that barrel races. There are several barrel racers in the Palm Beach area. This would be NBHA district FL 05. Jim Brandon equestrian park in West Palm Beach has a monthly jackpot, along with NBHA’s. Davie FL which is about an hour south has a Summer Buckle Series. Wellington is a good spot to be. Just like the other member posted, you will have access to a lot of different barrel races and associations. Good Luck!!

Does anyone have any info on the barrel racing scene near  Ft. Walton Beach, Navarre or Milton?

They are having more and more that way.  Fash Cash is expanding.  Brandon Perdue had an American Qualifier in Pensacola this year.  AL NBHA is also having them.  Also, a lot in that area go into Hattiesburg and Jackson for the bigger races.

Thank you so much for replying that's exactly what I needed to know!! Do you know of any boarding facilities? I will be working at a dressage barn but would rather board at a farm with barrel racing or at least western riders.

Good to know - thank you!

I wanted to send my son his horse - he lives in Navarre.   He is a AFSOC at Hurlburt AFB.  Trying also to find a good place for his gelding.

I'm about 2 hours East from Navarre.  When I get home, I'll put some feelers out over there with some folks that rodeod with us and see, if I can find out anything for you.

I'm going to PM some folks to get with when you move there. They should be able to help you with boarding and all.
