Today is
40 mph wind and it's minus 10.
They have snow blankets on.
It's actually protects them against the wind.
It's good to see them fat and well cared for. I can't imagine the losses ranchers must be facing in this miserable weather.
I have a space heater in my tack room for my two barn cats. This morning their huge water dish was completely frozen. That heater just can't deal with sub-zero temperatures.
This is after 2 pm.
It's getting worse.
Living in Louisiana all my life, I have no way to imagine that weather.
Similar here in North Dakota. We've finally let up today. It felt really really nice out, at -3F air temp and little wind. After having several days of -20F air temp and -50F wind chill, at 30-40 mph winds.
This was last week for us. Lost power for about 24 hours. Generator didn't work. My water fountain froze. It was miserable. And I only have 3 horses to take care of. I feel bad for our poor ranchers.
Very pretty
Amazing pictures - your crew looks good
I live in southern TX lol - anything under 50 and my bones hurt
Glad yall are doing good
Beautiful pictures everyone, I know the weather was tough though I hope you all are thawing out. We only got about 4 in of snow, but the temp & the wind chill was horrid. It wa amazing yesterday morning how good 28 felt.
I don't know how you do it. Last week, it was cold here in East Texas and the horse and cow water was frozen and it was a pain. This week it was the 70s and all is well with the world. Riding in t-shirt weather. Y'all are brave and hearty people and you have my respect.
Us northerners get toughened into the cold weather the same way you southerners get toughened into heat and humidity.
Only thing is I wished I could come south in the winter and ride there.
I am sure you will not come north and ride in the winter.
Happy New Year to everyone.

You better have a friend with an indoor. We stay wet Dec-April. Still fighting mosquitoes and ticks.
Yikes! That is some wind break you have going on.My horses are in mud cause it melted the little snow we did get. My honey loosened the ground trying to make it level for no reason other than being a sick dick so they no longer have solid ground to stand on.. I feel you. It's not easy.
Amazing photos!
I live in North Texas and I see the sun out and 55 degrees and horses stuck in pens with their pretty colored blankets on.
Back in 2020 we had a little bit of your weather and my horses looked like yours - they were fat and happy!
Awesome photos.
