How much would a superficial scar bother you when looking at buying a horse? I am kicking around the idea of selling my 3 year old and she has a superficial scar on her leg from last year. She was never lame on it or had any issues regarding it. When she was brought to the vet, it was confirmed to be superficial.
In the past that has never bothered me when buying horses, thoughts?
I think it deoends on how much you're asking. For a more expensive 3 yo, it would be worth getting an xray and a vet's statement verifying it is superficial .
If it's over tendons and ligaments I would verify with ultrasound that the underlying soft tissue is good.
