Location: Randolph, Utah | I was browsing through HTW trying to get an idea what my trailer is worth. It is amazing to me what used trailers, even 15-20 year old trailers are priced at. Is this the market now, or will the prices eventually drop? |

Location: NW. Florida | I'm with you, I see the prices and think there is a difference in asking and getting. I'm sure they're hopeful they will get the asking price, but I just wonder if they really do. I know it does happen, but how often is the question. |

Same with horses. One-eyed, three-legged, unbroke, crazy, grade 20 year olds are apparently worth 15k now. Oh, and they are all 16 hands-even the short ones!

The other day I seen an ad for a 20+ year old horse they wanted 18K for. I've got a 25 year old that still loves to run, but does have some soundness issues, surely he's work 8-10K right? LOL I'm not using my trailer right now so I thought sell while the market is high, save the money and buy again when it drops, but I'm not sure it will ever drop. |

| I'm keeping an eye out for a 4 horse with living quarters for a friend that's not on FB and I have to imagine they are getting what they want as the listings are sold fast. Every trailer I have sent her is sold within 48 hours if not within the same afternoon it was posted. I have a trailer store down the road from me and the trailers you can see from the front of the road are constantly getting turned over. I know several people that waited well over a year with delays on their new trailers that were getting built so I think being able to just buy one and have it has its perks and the sellers are taking advantage of that. |

| It all depends on the trailer. The high end trailers like Hart, Bloomer, Platinum ETC. are bringing high dollars. It doesen't matter how old they are. Cheaper trailers don't hold their value as much but are still high priced. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | Prices are down some from where they were last fall, believe it or not. I priced my 2006 Cimarron to someone last October thinking it was high enough she would say no, but she bought it. When I started looking for a replacement I got sticker shock. Ended up paying cash for a new trailer without LQ because the used LQ trailers were absolutely ridic and I wasn't finding what I really wanted anyway. Everything was older and/or bigger. |

Location: Texas | I would also agree that the market is down just a smidge from last year, but anything priced reasonably is purchased almost as soon as the ads are placed. Prices now are almost $5-10k+ more than they were 2 years ago when I was searching. Last year, I happened to find a deal on craigslist for a C&C LQ that was underpriced and listed under the wrong category. Sometimes you just have to great creative to find the good deals. |

| I am shopping now and amazed at some of the asking prices. I get top of the line prices for older trailers but these low ends at top dollar price is ridiculous. Of course they are still for sale months later. |

Location: Not Where I Want to Be | Last year, '23 I sold a 24' aluminum stock trailer that was 8 years old for $900 more than I paid for it brand new. so I would not expect them to get cheaper any time soon |

I don't remember the mechanics of it, but they aren't built to last. Something to do with materials and rivets and construction. I've seen some where horses kicked through the trailer wall and things like that. |

And that's why a couple years ago, I bought myself a brand new truck and trailer because it actually spent LESS money than buying something used. Crazy.......... |

I know many owners of Lakotas that love them and haul the crap out of them (and not just easy highway miles, more often it's some really rough back roads to get to back country campgrounds). Are they a top of the line? No. But they are an affordable price point for many people. I think that their factory was able to keep producing more during covid than some other brands too, so they got more of them on the trailer lots so you're going to see many of them for sale as folks trade out/replace.) I don't own one but as I said, know many that do & love them. |
