Hi,

I bought a horse that has a brand on his left side with DD. Do you know if this was a barrel racing horse? Sadly do not know any history of the horse, he is bigger than a quarter horse.

I would ask the previous owner for some background on him.  Most likely the "DD" is simply a brand. 

From my experience, a DD brand by itself doesn’t automatically mean barrel racing. A lot of ranches, breeders, or owners use simple letter brands, and the same letters can show up in totally different disciplines.

google say DD cattle ranch specializes in mustang. if the horse hunts the barrel and moves off the leg could be.
