12460. Your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and
I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued
by bank.

card and they are reissuing us a new number. What the scam wants is the
3-digit PIN number. By the time you get your statement, you think the
credit is coming, and then it's harder to actually file a fraud report.
The real VISA reinforced that they will never ask for anything on the
card! They already know! What makes this more remarkable is that on
Thursday, I got a call from a "Jason Richardson of MasterCard" with a
word-for-word repeat of the VISA scam.

reports daily! They also urged us to tell everybody we know that this
scam is happening.

There's another scam going on where you get a real-looking letter from ebay asking for information.  You really have to be on your toes nowadays.

There are so many scams out there today that it's hard to keep up with them all.

I keep getting a email from PayPal wanting me to verify my information. Problem is it is being sent to a email address that PayPal does not have on file.

I also get tons of calls telling me I am approved for a credit card. They then ask for my bank account information to either confirm I am who I am. I hang up.

The lastest scam is sad. Someone is calling families of service people over seas. Their story varies but they ask the family for either credit card or bank account information and then cleans them out.

The US Military has issued a statement that if your family member is unjured or needs anything from their family someone in uniform and proper ID will come to your home in person. But they DO NOT need your account information.
