Location: Blanchard, Ok		We should start a 911 emergency number for animals!  I had to call the vet tonight to sew up my yearling stud colt out of First Down Dash.  Nothing serious but needed sewing.  Had to track down the vet!  Took for ever.  Wouldn't it be nice to have an emergency number for our animals like we have for humans?????

Location: Woodstown, NJ		I know, I'm always worried that one of my horses is going to choke.  One of mine had a little choking incident a few years back and he looked at me with bulging fear in his eyes and all I could do was look back at him.  It was scary till he coughed it up.  No ambulance to call!

 I know, I hate to wait  and wait for the office to get my vet a message. Sometimes it is 1 -2 days before he calls. If it is an emergency he usually calls back quick or some other vet from his office. But, sometimes it is a judgement call as to how much an emergency it really is. I hope your colt gets ok, sounds like you took care of him.

Location: Arkansas		There are 24 hour emergency clinics for small animals. Why not for horses?
