My Wife The Barrel Racer

From November thru March, its all very nice
The girl i married is simply my wife
Her horse is second, she really doesn't care
Just a few simple words like "How's my mare?"
The Temperature is zero, the snow is blowing,
No way to the barn is my wife going
Everything's normal, things run great,
No thoughts of horses, barrel racing can wait
I forget what its like, when comes early Spring
The time of the year she starts doing her thing
Horse shows and rodeos and things of that kind
It's the time of the year I start blowing my mind
The quiet is over, time now for fun, get everything ready There's a
barrel to run! Hook up the camper, load the kids in the back.
Whatever you do, don't forget any of the tack.
My time is over, the horse is Number One
You do the work, honey, I'll have the fun.
Please watch my run, why did I lose?
I tell her the truth, she ends up with the blues.
The weekend is over, no money is won
I'll suffer all week; man this is fun!
One thing is certain, there's no other way
Horse shows and barrel racing are sure here to stay.
Some girls like bowling, some like to swim,
Some girls go skiing, some to the gym
Some like to talk, others just sit.
My wife likes horses, so-
I shovel the S---!!!

That is cute

BUT mine is more like

the horses are my wife's so unless she grumbles a whole lot

the ice, the wind, the shoveling the poop is all her game..

Ocassionally after a long trip I will be a sweetie and have the grain out, hay racks filled and water buckets full....

But I have learned a long time ago, I just can't do it her way, so just let her do it her way LOL

 SG,

That sounds just like what my hubby would say.

NGaPeach,

 I also go by myself.

Don't know why my post didn't show up.

SG,

When someone ask me where David (hubby) is or what's he doing, I say, "Someone has to work in this family to pay for my horse habits."

Unfortunately, my husband and I both have the habit.  I slow down during the winter.  But he keeps going right on through winter to anything he can chuck a loop at.

Im with ag_ranch.... my hubby and I do it all together! We trade out though... when we arent at his rodeos we're at my barrel races. (before I got prego) I was pretty lucky to find one like him that shares the same interest!

But I liked the poem... he still needs to read it.

This perfectly describes our marriage!!  Hubby likes it so much I'm going to copy it off so he can keep it in his wallet and be reminded that he's not the only one in the world that has to "suffer"!!!
