Location: somewhere in East TX | Iwent to one of her one day problem horse clinics and was very impressed with the amount of information she tries to fit in. She is very knowledgable and soft spoken, but she will get onto a horse and get her point across. :) Something my horse needed at the time. She gave us alot of exercises to help supple and flex as well as teaching the horse to speed up without alot of work on the riders part. Over all it was great and I will go back for another one!

Location: LouLouVille, OK | Janet ROCKS!! I have had the honor of getting to know Janet very well over the last few years, and I call her a Best Friend! Her clinics are wonderful, she will take the time to listen, she is soft spoken, and by goosh if she sees you can't quiet get your horse to do what she is telling you to do, she will hop on and have him doing it in no time. She also shows you how to get the best out of your horse, NFR material or not, she doesn't judge, she just shows you how to pull out his potential! She is a heck of a horsewomen! And did you notice,,,,,she is sitting #1 right now in the world? I am praying Bo stays sound, and that he takes her to world championship #2!!! How great would that be?!!! Have fun and I would reccommend her clinics to anyone. She has a style, class and god given talent all her own! She is coooool!

Location: Louisiana | I also went to Janet's clinic last Oct., and I would recommend her. I've been to a number of clinics by various instructors over the past 35 years, both barrel racing and "other", so I think I'm qualified to say that Janet puts on a well run, informative, fun clinic. And I LOVE the NRS facilities where she has them! In addition to Janet's expert instruction, you will benefit from not-necessarily-barrel-racing instruction by a few other talented people that are a part of her clinics. I was also impressed with the fact that most of the meals are included in the price of the clinic and are served right there in the dining room at the NRS arena. (And they're GOOD!) This allows instruction to continue almost nonstop! So yes, send in your deposit now and go to a Janet Stover clinic. You won't regret it!

I have attended a few other clinics and they were ok, the first one I went to was a gal from Wis, and I learned so much my head was spinning, another was Marlene E, and was very dissappointed, and I actually had to stop during my "runs" and ask, are my reins to long, are my stirrups to long, it made me wonder what I paid for she should have jumped right in there and told me, on the other hand her hubby managed to totally get on my nerves,,,he he he, oh well, Anyway I love hearing of these new things, and I own just about every barrel racing tape known to man, and love those for the resources they give me everyday,,,that and I can call Janet

Location: Louisiana | Melissa, I have been to many clinics over the years, and I would like to offer you a bit of advice. Don't be shy! If you're wondering what Janet (or whoever the instructor is) meant when she said something, ASK HER! If you don't feel that your horse is working like he/she should be, TELL HER! If you don't feel that what she told you is working, TELL HER! In other words, speak up. Don't sit back and think to yourself, "This is not working. I'm not getting anything out of this." For instance, when I was at Janet's clinic, I felt that one of the exercises she had us doing was not working for my horse. He was not responding like he should have. I stopped him and told her that it was not working for him. She thought about it for a few seconds, then took me out of that group and had me do something completely different with my horse. What works for the majority of horses doesn't always work for EVERY horse. The result of my speaking up when things weren't going right was that she showed me how to correct what was really my only problem with that horse. If I hadn't said anything, I might have gone home feeling that I hadn't accomplished anything at the clinic. I think most clinicians WANT their students to talk to them, to ask questions, etc. The worst thing you should do is to spend a weekend at a clinic and go home with questions left unanswered or with a feeling that you didn't learn anything. So speak up! I'm shy, but I always ask questions at clinics. I feel that it's the best way to get my money's worth.
