Apologies if this has been answered, new to this forum :)
My vet just diagnosed degeneration in the "3rd" joint of the hock or the Proximal Intertarsal Joint. Has anyone had luck with injecting this particular one and it responding well to it??
I know the lower two are the typical ones that are injected and respond well. He's only 8 years old and it's not an option to fuse this particular joint. We think the people that had him before were rough on him and the vet say's its from an injury not just wear and tear.
Appreciate any info particular to injecting the joint mentioned above not neccesarily the lower ones as he doesn't have any issues in those.
Thank you! :)
We inject this same joint on my mare. She's 9 this year, but I believe we've been doing it 2-3 years and I can promise it's not from wear and tear. ?? Just part of maintaining her. I notice a huge difference with this injection. They last about a year for my girl. Just did a 6 month check up, and she flexed great. Hope this helps! I say go for it!
