hey ya'll.  I posted some pics on here a couple months ago and they were kinda poopy, so I decided to put some more up.  Tell me what ya'll think.

The first three are of my paint gelding Dakota.

the last three are of my stud colt that was a b-day present from my fiance.  My colt will be 2 next month.

Hey! I really like your paint! Does he have Sonny Dee Bar breeding in him? He looks like it. I had a paint that was a grandson of him & he was a great barrel & pole horse. I can't decide which I like better though, your paint or your place! You sure have some beautiful trees! I think you colt is nice too, looks like he has potential.

Very nice, both of them! The paint looks like it has alot of old foundation breeding.  What is the breeding of your stud?

Thanks everyone!  I don't really know a whole lot about my paint's bloodlines.  My dad bought him for his ex-wife and then they got divorced and my dad doesn't know a thing about horses, so I took him over.  My dad still has the papers.  he's awesome though.  He's seriously the fastest horse I've ever been on and I've been on a lot of horses.  But at the same time, as soon as you pull back, you can drop the reins again and he'll just walk.  My stud colt, he has King, Three Bars, uh....I'll check on the rest tonight and get back to you, but I think he has a lot of potential too.  He is doing so good and he's sooo fast and athletic.  Anyways, I'm thinking about taking him to a couple shows this summer and just taking him in halter to get him used to the lights and crowds, I was kinda hoping ya'll would tell me how you think he'll do.  thanks!

Where did your dad get the paint? He looks a lot like the paint gelding I used to have. I've been wondering what happened to him.  I sold him to a guy who learned to rope with him.  I had been running barrels on him.  The last I saw of him, he was a heeling horse.  Your horse is colored different than what I remember mine being colored, but that could be senility setting in.  68

My dad got him from some breeder in Park Hills, Mo.  I doubt it was your horse, cause when my dad bought him, the guy tried to tell him that Dakota was a dead broke trail horse and boy was he wrong.  he had never even been cantered under saddle.  So, I took him over and worked out all the kinks and taught him the barrel pattern, so he's doing awesome now, but when I got him, he was an 8 yr. old horse that didn't know anything.  It took a lot of work, but I'm glad I stuck it out, cause he's probably the best horse I've ever owned.

Your paint looks very nice.  I just love the look of him.  Congratulations I hope he works out!

How is your stud colt bred?  Do you plan on keeping him a stallion?  How old is he?

"My" paint had a longer back, now that I look closer at the pics.  I also don't think he has quite as much white.  I'll have to post a pic, if I can find one.  His mane and tail are streaked like Dakota's and he's colored the same.  His nickname was Pete 'cause he looked like Petey (sp??) from The Little Rascals.  He has a circle around one eye.  His face looks like Dakota's too!  Good luck with your boys!!50

Thanks guys, I like my place too!    Anyways, my colt will be 2 next month, so he's not full grown yet.  He's doing really well though.  I'm going to school for breeding and training and so my fiance bought him for me as something to start the breeding part with.  He figured by the time I'm finished with school I'll have him trained, so we can start breeding.  So, we're planning on keeping him a stud.  We haven't had any problems with him what-so-ever.  He's out in a field with three other geldings and he's the one that gets his butt kicked.  But, we're gonna breed him a  couple times and see how it turns out and if we like the babies, we'll keep him at stud and if not, we'll cut him.  If he passes his temperment on to his babies, we'll have some nice babies on our hands.

I'm asking if ya'll think that they have good enough conformation to take to a show this weekend and show them in halter.
