Today is
I don't post on here very often, but I'm ready to talk a about this so here it goes--As some of you may know on Valentine's Day, our house burned while we were at a nephew's wedding. It was considered a total, but the bedrooms weren't actually ON fire, so we have been able to save a few things. I've had a very hard time with this as I lost a lot of pretty valuable collectibles and art that can't be replaced. I also lost my dog in the fire. It has been hard trying to decide what to try and clean up and save, as EVERYTHING is black, smelly and very nasty.
My computer was on the floor under the desk plugged in and of course turned on at the time, so I knew that the power supply and probably everything else was totally fried. The monitor and keyboard were melted and the plastic had actually dripped onto the floor! My husband took the computer to a guy yesterday to at least try and salvage the hard drive. He replaced the power supply and a couple cables and it WORKS!! All my stuff is still there and everything! I couldn't believe it! That just made my whole day!
Thanks guys. I'm going to take one last trip through the house this week to make sure there is nothing else I want to keep. The fire dept is going to let us burn it the rest of the way down (hopefully this weekend) and then we will dig a pit and bury the debris. It's going to be hard, but it will help not having the burned out house to look at everytime I go over there to ride and feed.
