those that use one- rein german martingales: What brand? Where did you get it? Do you run in it? I'm looking into getting one and I like the thought of the Josey "Training rein" but I don't know quality because I have never seen one. I used to have a leather one but it was too long- I couldn't adjust it enough to run in it.

Those that have trouble with pulling your hands up instead of to your hip/ stomach/ horn: What the heck did/ do you do to fix yourself?! AHHHH I'm fighting with myself LOL

Thanks in advance

I have this one http://aldunningsadtack.com/index.php?p=product&id=78

I
sold a cheap saddle and bought this in part with the money through the consignment shop. I have the split rein, but it comes in a sing rein too. I don't run in it. The leather is very nice quality.

I bought a german martingale.  I sold a german martingale.  I hated it, didn't see the point, prefer my Y martingales or draw reins.

I think practicing over and over using your hands in the correct position going slow would help.  It doesn't have to be on the pattern, just get yourself into the habit of pulling to your belly button.  Muscle memory!!

thank you!

I have a split german that I basically made. I loved my single rein because it was thick & heavy but I couldn't adjust it much. I paid $100 for mine but it was all leather and thick, nice leather. I don't really want to spend that agian 0.O but I get.... you get what you pay for lol

Mine is also very thick leather of nice quality. I don't use it often, but I prefer it over draw reins for a barrel horse.

I like the look of the split for sure. I wish they had a picture of the single rein so I could see the adjustments. I'm sure it will be really good quality like the split.

I bought mine from Ed Wright website! Heavy duty and reins are adjustable ! Had it for years! Yes I run in mine sometimes! Make sure you have someone that's used one help you with setting the length of martingale for your horse! See a ton of people using them too tight!
