The game ready I would say is the best but very pricey.

For my lower extremity acute injuries, I use cheap ice boots they hold the cold for over an hour, stay in place so I can wrap the leg and kick the horse out in pasture then take it off an hour later. If you are interested message me and I will find the name, but they cost 20.00

I haven't found a good hock ice boot, that stays cold, so I would like to hear people's stories too.

Rejuve gels don't work they only cool for 30 min then heat up the legs really fast.

They stay cold for a long time. I've never really timed it but I've left them just sitting out and they were still cold. Just google ice vibe boots and their website can give you more info. The have boots for the legs, knees and hocks. Also, they are good because they have the option of using the vibration.

I have looked into ice boots also. My main concern is how to use if I am not pulling my living quarters to have a freezer. What boots work well when traveling away from home and without a freezer?

I have used Ice Boots successfully in rehabbing a western pleasure horse. The same boots and ice packs were used for 2 years. Well worth the money. They are cheaper than Ice Vibe, etc. I've tried Ice Vibe, Equi-Fit, etc (the perks of working at a tack store) and I will continue to support ice boots.

Intelligent Ice stays cold for 4 hours no freeze burn and you can ice round the clock.  Fast easy and hardly takes up any room in the freezer because it comes out of the boots easily to freeze.
