Location: Wisconsin | Hubby and I are looking to get ride of cable... costing us $65/month. We currently have a wireless connection at the house, and I enjoy Netflix thru Xbox. Anyone have Apple Tv or Roku? How do they work and why would you choose one over the other? What are our other options? We really love the DVR we have with the current cable company, and Hubby is worried we wont have that option anymore. |

Location: North Central Kansas | We got rid of cable in the spring. We just bought the amazon tv for $99 and since we already have prime we can watch a lot of shows for free. Then we pirate whatever movis or shows we can't get for free. |

| We haven't had tv in years. Don't miss it one bit. Sit down in a hotel room and click, click, click the remote. Worthless. We do really enjoy the big HBO and Starz series on DVD. We can watch an episode or two a night whenever we get a chance. It's good bonding time too, because we can be in suspense with each other (currently watching Boardwalk Empire) and talk about character love/hate together. I've had good luck getting series cheap cheap on amazon or ebay. |

Location: Michigan | Put up an antenna for basic network channels and get the new amazon box for content off the internet. If you want to have dvr functions get a TiVo, it will allow dvr functions with your antenna for network shows. The TiVo might be enough as it also does hulu, youtube and Netflix all in a very nice package.

| We haven't had cable on over a year. We have Netflix and watch most things online. My husband and I decided that we had way to much stuff to be doing outside rather than sitting on our butts watching tv for hours on end and paying a huge amount to do it |

Location: Wisconsin | Thank you all for your suggestions and comments! Like someone else said, we have chores and enjoy being outside too much to pay this huge cable bill when in reality we record a few shows and end up watching them when bad weather hits or on a down night. |

| I would love to get rid of Dish, but I can't even make a dang phone call where we live, nonetheless have internet fast enough to stream anything! |
