Location: Texas! | I live in a barn apartment and I love it but think of noise when building. My bedroom is IN the barn and I hear every kick snort and fart lol |

Location: North Dakota | The barn where I board is like this. There's a stable area with 7 stalls and a feed room on one side of the aisle, and 3 stalls, a wash rack, and a tack room on the other. The door to the arena is also on that side as well as the stairs to go up to the apartment, which is used as an office, storage, restroom, and sitting area where you can look into the indoor. Parents like to watch lessons from up there. The whole thing including the arena is heated, so that's great. When I'm upstairs I never hear any goings on downstairs. For living in though, I'd definitely have more living space and a deck. I've seen some really neat ones on pinterest. |

| we built our house, arena and barn all in one building. the building is 144 x 200. the north side is 25 stalls that is 36 ft wide and 200 ft long. The middle is the 72x200 indoor and then the south side is our home 36x60, gagage 36x40 and the remaining 100ft is hay and tractor storage. We have it very well insulated with spray insulation and double walls between the house and arena (insurance made us do it) but we can really only hear when a horse is in trouble, which is nice. Good luck and if you have any questions please feel free to pm me. |

Location: Arkansas | We love ours. My main suggestion past the insulation is to install a fly spray system. And you want concrete in the horse area to keep down dust. |

Location: Moving soon..... | Here is what we had. I would love to have been able to pick it up and move it where we are now. My husband and I built a storage/tack room (12'X16') inside. The only wood we had was the actual apartment, everything else was metal.
