What type of fish do people use in their big water tanks to keep the algae down?

I have goldfish but someone told me that algae eaters will live in a horse tank.

I don't think the fish are for eating algae, they eat the mosquito larvae. We have goldfish in our stock tanks for the cows and they definitely do not keep the algae under control haha.

We have an above ground pool so I put a chunk of a chlorine tablet in our tanks and it helps tremendously

Yes Koi is a grass eater. They are in the Carp family and Craps eat grass and algae. But the algae has to get pretty thick for them to beable to grab ahole.
