Does anyone have one of these? I'm looking for a saddle to fit my mare better, but I guess I haven't heard too much about this brand.

Are they good quality? This is a used one, but I don't want to spend the money on it if I'll be needing a new one in a year or two. It looks like it's in pretty good shape. It's a 7" gullet, and I'm not sure what mine is(helpful I know) lol, but it's pinching pretty bad on her shoulders.

Any suggestions??

ETA: I have a Scott Thomas trophy saddle that was given to me, and I've never had a saddle more comfortable. Very disappointed that it doesn't fit my mare now:(

The little girl that rides with us has a trophy barrel saddle. It is the ONLY treed saddle that fits my gelding that I've been able to try on him. He had zero anxiety about it, he gets worried when I put anything but a treeless on him. Of course it's about a 13", it did not fit me and we were a sight to see hahaha!!
It fits her old guy pretty good too. My mom helps her and keeps her horse, when she won the saddle Mama told her she wasn't riding in it if it didn't fit!

Thanks everyone! Another question... How do I measure the gullet on my saddle, and how can I tell if it's FQHB or not??

Kinda tricky to measure gullet, but a rule of thumb is to measure between the conchos.

As far as knowing what type of tree is in your saddle, you'll need to find the serial number and call the company or look it up online. That is the only way you can find out, because the tree is totally covered.

Now keep in mind, one brand's FGHB is not the same as another brand.

And for that matter, one gullet size does not automatically mean the same gullet size will fit the same either. The gullet size may be the same, but if the angle of the bars are different, the saddle won't fit the same.

It is almost impossible to get an accurate gullet measurement once leather and fleece are put on a tree. Best bet would be to call the saddle manufacturer and ask what dimension they consider as a Full QH bar or a semi bar. People measure at different points

You know I actually had the saddle sent to me from someone on this site... I never had the chance to meet the woman. Maybe she would know? I would love to talk to her again.. I wouldn't even have a saddle now if it wasn't for her!
