I heard that apple cider vinegar is good for your horse. Do you know what its good for and where do you purchase it to get the best quality and price?

I believe when people discussed it before they always said Bragg's because it's Organic.
I grab the Heinz kind from Walmart and just make sure to grab the one that's labeled "With the Mother"

1.It's a nutritional supplement added to both feed and water.
2.It helps prevent intestinal stones called enteroliths.
3.It's a natural horse fly spray.
4.It's a mild cure for skin conditions
5.It's an excellent horse hoof care product
Unfiltered or "with Mothers" has the most benefits. However you can take regular ACV and put an unfiltered ACV in it and let it ferment and grow its own "mothers" also. I buy a gallon of the regular ACV which is much less expensive, and split it into 2 other jugs and then take a QT bottle of the unfiltered and split it between the two jugs. Stretches it out and you get all the benefits especially when the second bottle has a chance to grow its own mothers. My horses like the taste of the unfiltered much better also. Its not near as sharp smelling.

What about ulcer horses ? Have always heard it was not good to feed. Not only that but some vets have used ACV to induce ulcers in horses. Anyone want to comment?

I feed to all of mine, including the one that is prone to digestive upset/ulcers. It doesn't affect him negatively. The fly population is way down this year, though.
I feed 1/4 cup mixed with an equal amount of water once a day.

Good for Mares, It balances their PH for horses who are PRONE to ulcers. I wouldn't recommend feeding it to a horse that has a flair up. But it does help prevent. I feed 1/4 a cup Organic brags Apple Cider Vinegar with 1 cup Aloe juice every day to my Ulcer Prone horses. The Aloe in conjunction with regular doses of UG would be my go to for a horse with a flair up. NOT the Cider.

it is also a great product to "hide" medicines/supplements. I use it for my picky eaters that pick at their food to avoid anything added. Better that the sugar products like Molasses and such.

I have had trouble lateley finding Bragg 1 gallon size anywhere - I used to order 4 gallons at a time - about $18.99 per gal. Now it says on multiple sites that it is out of stock and there is no eta. Someone on FB told me there is an apple shortage...I know hard cider is becoming more popluar. I purchased several 32 oz bottles from Vitamin Life and that is the cheapest I was able to find at about $27 per gal total. I got excited on one website, found organic raw for a great price and shipping was over $25 alone - canceled that order.
I am going to start making my own -- it is easy, just takes time.
I have read where someone would separate theirs into multiple jars, add water to it and it would produce more "mother" making more acv - I might try that!
I wish more people would look into this for their animals and themselves.
