| How long do you usually wait to make a run after hock injections? All my vet said was 3 days stall rest then work up to a full workout. |

| I'm not questioning my vet at all. My question is how long do you usually wait to run? what's considered working up to a full workout, a week, two weeks, ect. I don't want to ask him to make a run too soon, but am excited to get him out and see if our much improved attitude/workouts make it to the arena. |

| I usually have mine done on a Monday or Tuesday so I can run them that weekend. |

Location: mi | Mine just got done Monday. 24 hours stalls rest is all he recommended. We put him back to work on day 3. He didn't specifically give me a time frame for running but asked when our next one was and I said possibly this saturday a small one, if he seemed ready. and big one in 10 days and he was fine with that.
I have always been told you see your improvement between day 3 and 10. So I try hard to give them the full 10 days before really running hard. |

| My vet has never put mine on stall rest, but I don't ride for a few days. Like Flit, if done on a Monday I will run that weekend, I always give them at least 5 days. |

Location: Texas | depends on the joint. Most of them you can do 2-3 days rest and run, but like others ideally I like to get mine done on a Monday so I can give them a couple days then be ready to run that Saturday.
I was told by my vet when injecting whorl bones to give them 5 days.
I just had one of mine get her back injected and I am exercising her but just by ponying nothing on her back. I plan on running her Sat. |

Location: Midwest | For hocks I rest mine in the stall for one day. Turnout only for two additional days. On the 4th day I will start riding again and return to normal work around day 7-10.
Longer stall rest than a day is better (up to day 3) is what I have been told, but mine paces if he is the only one left on the barn, tearing himself up more than being outside... so I only keep him in one day. |

| Here is the deal. Vets inject to reduce inflammation in the joint ( if your using steroid). It takes a few days for the steroid to get the inflammation out of the joint. You can run your horse an hour after they are injected if you want but it will defeat the purpose. |
