| What is your opinion on a reverse slant load? Do you feel like a horse would be more comfortable? I feel like they'd prefer it because of the more pressure braking (pushing towards their hindend rather than front end) vs. accelerating ? Also so the wind isn't being blown in their face. .. What are your opinions? Do they make non-living quarters trailers that are reverse slant load? |

Location: Buffalo, TX | I am a huge fan of reverse load trailers for all the reasons you listed...any custom manufacturer will do a non-living quarter reverse load trailer....I have a new Platinum C Sport at my house now as a demo and I load my horses backwards in it when I haul them, so much easier riding and weight distribution on them... |

Location: At the barn | I love the huge rear tack and the concept of a reverse load but then I worry, how would you unload if you laid it on its side? Also, I dislike that their is so many latches to undo to load/unload. |

Location: Oklahoma | Depending on how many horses (ie: 3 or 4 horse slant). You've got to add length in order to get the axle placement right. Also, add length at the rear of the trailer to make the corner of the rear tack a little larger. I work for a trailer manufacturer, so feel free to pm me questions. It really all depends on a multitude of things... examples... single load door, or double load doors? How large of dressing room, how big of a rear tack, how big do the stalls need to be? |

I tried to type  - same size stalls as a regular slant, same size LQ let's say 10/1/2 SW , 4 saddle racks. and double load doors.

you would have to make the stalls a little larger, it's a more severe slant as well as a steeper ramp. I usually make the stalls 40-41" on the last 2 stalls, and 44-48" on the loading stalls. I also recommend to the dealers to add 6-12" in the rear tack for more space instead of a dead spaced corner and put shelves there for storage. It also depends if you want a large single door on the rear tack or double doors. Also, on the load doors, you'll have a removable center post. I would also telescope the first 2 dividers so you have more room to get horses in and out. |
