A friend of mine has an 8 year old girl who LOVES horses and wants to get into barrel racing. I was thinking of gifting her Fallon's DVD "Believe". It is supposed to be inspirational and give a look behind the scenes of rodeo. Most little girls like Fallon.  I am just wondering if anyone has seen it? I am worried that if she gives a lot of tips it may be a bit technical for a child that is a genuine beginner......      If you've seen it let me know :

Martha Joseys dvds are mostly geared to beginners and easy to understand. She gives alot of info on basics from tack, saddling up, riding and hands. I have not seen her newer releases but i know she has a variety to choose from. Id call the ranch and ask them which one they would suggest for a beginner barrel racer of that age group. A clinic is also wonderful for kids that stage and age. I took my beginner niece to one once she had a good seat and knew a little bit. She loved it and improved as well.

I second Martha's DVD's, she is so good with the kids, that's why her barrel races at her place are such
a huge thing with all the kids and young adults. They all adore her

Not to bash Fallon at all, but I was very disappointed with her DVD. I picked a copy up at her booth in Vegas, and maybe I misunderstood the purpose or type of DVD it was supposed to be, but the entire time I felt like I was just watching a YouTube video. It seemed thrown together, informal and poorly produced. There was some neat footage, but I can think of several better ways I could have spent that $30.....

I third the Martha Josey Suggestion. She is just so upbeat with everything its impossible not to love her, plus she has so much great information to give. She makes difficult concepts really easy to understand, I've not see her DVD's but I watch a lot of her youtube videos and have been to her ranch for one of her 7 day clinics, and she's just great.

I was curious to see what the video was like too. Is it a compilation of her snap chats? I bought her Barrel Racing tips video for over $15-20 a few years ago and I was very disappointed since she compiled all of her Youtube tip videos into one movie- I had already watched her tip videos on you tube. I'm assuming that is the same Barrel Racing tip video she has out now.

I really liked Charmayne James' video though! Extremely helpful and she uses great examples and visuals!
