Location: Oklahoma | Does anyone know of a barrel race in tne next week or so that has a side gate instead of an alley? I need to make a run at one.
I know it is unpopular, but dang it is hard to keep one sharp on side gates, no one uses them anymore.

You could probably work that one like it's a side gate by going in the main gate, walking into the roping box, waiting for a second and then coming back out like that's the gate. Cindy, CLM, is putting it on and she doesn't enforce a center gate/forward motion rule. |

I personally wish more would use side gates, it would encourage barrel racers to put a brain on their crazy barrel horses instead of letting them run in like bats outta hell. JMO. |

I go to one that has a side alley gate. Normally I don't need an 'escort' but when I'm at that arena, I do. |
