| So there's qualifiers...
Then a semi-finals? When is this usually?
Finals - February 19th? Is the finals just the 1 day event in Arlington? Is this worth making a family vacation out of?
thanks for any input.

| I'd go to Vegas of The American any day of the week. We went to the Semi-Finals 2 years ago and Ft Worth was great, but its just another rodeo. There wasn't much shopping or anything extra going on for the Semi's. So much more to do and see in Vegas! |

Location: Mississippi | I went to the American the first year and I enjoyed it and have also been to the NFR - they are both very different experiences. I am not sure if the American has added any shopping/vendors but they had nothing the year I went. We did really enjoy Ft Worth and a visit to Teskeys is a must :) Dallas has great restaurants and lots of other things to do. The best thing about going to the NFR was the Cowboy Christmas and Country Christmas. I am not big on all of the casino stuff and thought Vegas was very "touristy".

Location: Texas | I would not make a family vacation for the semi finals. I live here and there is not enough to do plus semifinals is just a rodeo. No added excitment except for the competitors or those who really know whats going on. And yes The American is just 1 day. |

| FYI, FT Worth just started tearing down the old stockyards and a few buildings, so that attraction is gone. |

So sad, this country only has a couple of centuries of history, and a lot of it is disappearing, fast. |

I saw the pictures of them demolishing part of the Yards and it made me sick. Why do people of this day and age, want to erase our history? I thought the Stock Yards was a tourist destination? |

so nothing will be left? I suppose they're making room for more shops? |
