I'm looking for ideas for a new grain and supplement for my very easy keeping mare. Let me know your favorites and what to avoid! Thanks

Does your easy keeper need grain and supplement?

Why are you looking to change feed and adding new supplements if your mare is a easy keeper? Why fix something if its not broke?

I'd like to keep her on a supplement to maintain the extra nutrition she needs with heavy work so she can perform at her best, but I don't need the extra fat.

THE Equine Edge has the Performance Formula. It is great for easy keepers, has all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids etc they need. You can add special blends for your individual horse's needs-hoof, joint & arthritis, calming...80 scoops is $55 shipped and the blends are $5 each

Purina Enrich Plus. You can find all the info on their website. It sounds perfect for easy keepers.

I'm an alfalfa, whole oats, Cur-OST fan.  I only feed the oats as a medium in which to mix the Cur-OST, so a pound once a day.  The Cur-OST provides nutrition and anti-inflammatory support through the use of specific anti-inflammatory herb blends and packs a powerful punch in managing inflammation.  Being proactive rather than reactive from an inflammation standpoint helps manage the many issues we deal with in our horses from ulcers, to respiratory issues, to arthritis.

I just got Omnis cubes for everyone. It's only been a week but so far so good. I am trying to eat clean and the more I read on Omnis I felt like it would be a good choice for the horses to eat clean too. I have broodmares, babies and 2 barrel horses. The 2 barrel horses get some Renew gold in their evening feed when they are put up for the night. And for supplements all my horses get the Foundation Detox by Animal Element as an overall supplement. I add other supplements by Animal Element for the barrel horses - they get Cissus, and Product X several days before a race. All young horses and Broodmares get the Body Boost which helps them fill out all over.

I have an air fern as well. I feed simply 1 lb of oats, half pound of alfalfa pellets, and a handful of flax seed. Once a day.
For a supplement I use and have used Exceed 6 Way for years. Love it! I also happened to have some AE Detox on hand and I've been feeding 1 scoop of that daily as well.
He is on pasture 24/7 but they aren't the greatest. Pretty dry and over grazed. So I usually let him hand graze in the long green grass for 15-20 min everyday.
