Anyone have a baby by Slye By Design? I realize he only has one foal crop on the ground, and they are just coming year old but I'm wondering what everyone thinks of them so far. Are they fairly laid-back like Slick or a Little more lively like Sly was? Any and all info welcome, can pm me if you want to. Thank you!
They are horses.

He's on my short list for 2021.
In my experience, Slick babies are not laid back. Nothing against them, They are just thin skinned but athletic. I had an opportunity to see slye by design exhibition at a few jackpots. Got to talk to a few people and they said he has the same mentality as a slick baby but more busy. Makes you wonder why they didnt campaign him hard like the other studs.
Slye was not campaigned because he got cast under a fence and hurt. It put him to far behind to make a futurity horse. Since he already had a good numbers of foals on the ground we decided they would have to do the proving! The Slye foals have really good size and bone! I would say he is a mix between Slick and Skye!

You haven't met my slick gelding. He is laid back & has the best temperment & personality. He is a kind soul & smart & athletic. I bred 5 different driftwood mares to slick & all 5 are wonderful. I kept the first one. One is owned by a pro rodeo girl & he will be her back up horse next year. The people I sold the 4 slick kids to wouldn't sell them for any amount.
My yearling Slye filly is smart, willing, kind, homozygous black (she turned fully black this fall) and will not be nearly as big as Slye.
My opinion is always breed to a mare w/a great disposition ... the foal picks up her nature!
I bred a NUT JOB of a mare to Slye and got a laid back colt. Smart as a whip and TALL. It was this mare's first foal. The people that bought him are going to stand him in the future I think.
