No real help as I've only visited once, but I am jealous if you are thinking about moving! We love it, my boyfriend lived out there wrangling on a guest ranch north of Phoenix in Cave Creek after high school. I got to visit for the first time over last Thanksgiving. When he finishes school in 2 years we're going to look to relocate.

I really like the Wickenburg & Wittmann area. Wittmann is a little more convenient as far as going to races, but Wickenburg is a really cute town, there is a ton team roping in Wickenburg. I would try to stay on the west side of Phoenix other wise you have to drive through Phoenix alot and that can be a pain, you have to time it for traffic.

I'm on the Gilbert/queen creek border. I love arizona. It's been in the 70s everyday for the past two months. The summers are tough but at least we don't deal with snow, tornados, ice .... There is a lot of barrel racing within an hour drive of where I am. I'm a native and have lived all over the west but love it here

I stay in Casa Grande for the winter.  The traffic isn't as crazy down here as it is around Phoenix, and the weather is warmer than Wickenburg.  It is between Phoenix and Tucson, and we have plenty of races close by to go to- Marana, Queen Creek, Maricopa, Woolsey's (here in CG).  Buckeye and Dunn's are both about an hour and 20 mins away.

I'm in Marana.  There's something going every weekend.  I can see Mt lemmon and other surrounding mountains and I just love it.

I'd say it's moderate expensive.  Real Estate is gaining a foothold out here again.

I have a buddy leaving snowy cold South Dakota tomorrow or Thursday (weather depending) and heading to Casa Grande.  Maybe you guys could meet in case she needs a buddy?  She wanted me to go too but I still have mom duties so can't leave.  It makes me nervous she's taking off by herself.

Yes its Jodi!  I told her I was trying to hook her up with someone down there from Wyoming and she said - I bet I know who your talking about!  Sounds like Marla has got you guys lined up.  I'm so thankful someone will be watching for her.  I wish I was coming too but gotta be a mom for another year or so.
