Hungarian Midget Woman
Location: Midwest | I know most folks on here will not like Bill Mahr, or his documentary/comedy Religulous, since he's basically convincing folks to be agnostics, etc etc
However at one point he interviews an interesting fellow who is a rousing preacher who claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. He was such a silly dude, I just had to laugh...
Here's some info about him... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Luis_de_Jes%C3%BAs |

| I do not donate money to any of the television preachers. I listen to Joyce Meyers and any special that ever comes on with Billy Graham throughout the years. However, I reserve my tithes for my home church. Often times we have need over and above regular tithing and I participate, when possible, and when I believe it's something I want to donate to. Sometimes we give extra on Benevolent Sunday, sometimes not. This past Sunday, our pastor came to my husband and several other men (not sure if he hit any of the women up or not) while I was off visiting before the start of the service about a single mom who was having a hard time making ends meet and the fact that her daughter was going to have sit out softball because they couldn't afford it along with other more necessary needs that she wasn't able to meet. He asked if we thought we could contribute...hubby put a $100 bill in the envelope. Pastor has never made a request like that to us so we figured he considered it pretty important for this single mom and we feel blessed to be able to help a little. |

So awesome you could help out a single mom and knowing it is going to a good cause. |

I couldn't agree more. I think they are all BS scammers that are on TV. They actually creep me out. |

Location: Near San Antonio, TX | I donate to Samaratians Purse, which is founded by Franklin Graham (son or grandson of Billy Graham). That isn't a tele-evangalist tho, it is an obviously legitimate charity. Also, I have here recently donated to World Vision. All of their financial statements are available and it has been around for a long time. I hink it is kind of cool to donate a herd of animals to a village.
Of course I will always help out locally with individual famalies in need if I feel moved to do so. |

| I would never contribute to a religious organization unless I can directly trace my contribution. I donate regularly to such as Still Creek Ranch and similar. I have a strange complex about the whole religious popularity contest and also how I can help save my soul by donating to some preachers new suit. |
