I'm picking this horse up next weekend, I know the girl that owns him now and she hasn't done much with him. I'll basically be starting him on the pattern from scratch at 11. He is OT.

What I'm wanting to know is this horse (just judging from papers) going to be able to handle it mind wise? Does anyone have a horse bred simular?

Any more info about his papers good/bad? Im getting a good deal on him, I just want to find out if anyone thinks I should hesitate. Thanks :)

There are a lot of BBs that wouldn't take him if they were paid to. (Because of the Chicks Beduino.) Wouldn't bother me though as I am a fan.

Every horse is an individual and I don't think you can judge the mindset or ability by the papers.....I would be more worried about the bad habits that he may have by the age of 11. He may take longer to train due to having to make corrections.  Good Luck!

Like others have said, I don't believe that you can judge a horse's trainability based on papers. I also don't beleive in such a thing as "too much run". On the other hand, too little brain can be an issue, lol.

From personal experience, I have not been a big Chicks Beduino fan. If you are asking at 11, is this a horse I would want to take on...it would depend on the indviduals appearance, conformation and for me, track record. If the horse was a consistent winner on the track, I know they have a good work ethic and I can probably get something done, or at least they have the speed to make it worth the effort.

just my 2 cents

Game Patriot is awesome.  His dam line sucks on paper, but that obviously didn't matter to him.

My motto is that I can occasionally make a fast horse turn, but I can never make a slow horse fast.   I likes em a little more runny than most.  I also had a Game Patriot mare that I LOVED.  I bought her as an 8 YO and nearly starved to death.  Her mind was blown but it wasn't her fault.  She was overall very good minded, but she had been on the match tracks all of her life and all she knew was when somebody was on her, it was time to run.  I did get her where I could lope her through the barrels, but the further along we got, she started showing some soreness in her hock where there had been an old injury, so I quit.  She was a sweetheart of a mare though!
