A proud momma moment !

So today my daughter had back to back jr rodeos. She took her solid finished mare and two 4yr olds to see the sights. She ran poles a nice run but knocked a pole. When we got back to the trailer the younger girl next to us was in tears and upset her horse had hurt himself during poles and she couldn't ride plus was worried he wouldn't be ok. So my daughter told her to saddle up her mare and she would run the babies the rest of the day. She didn't end up having the day she had hoped to have but won barrels in first rodeo and played run the barrel over her second run. Her filly who had only been through poles a few times turned first like a pro then thought it was time to just run home but all in all good exposure for the youngsters and what I loved best was that she didn't have to share her good mare but turned her over so that someone else could have a better day ! Thanks for letting me brag a little about a non winning performance ! I threw in a picture of her from a couple of weeks ago just because!

Aw, that's good sportsmanship right there. I would be proud too!
On a completely random sidenote, my dyslexia kicked in when I read your name and I got real concerned for a moment!

Thanks she is a good kid most days ! I was just so happy she took the time to help a younger kid out and let her continue her rodeo. We have lots of great kids in the club so you want to see them all get a shot.

Good for your daughter...you're proud of her, as you should be. It is people like you and her that make barrel racing and rodeo a good, fun, enjoyable sport.

I use to be very competitive and probably not as generous with praise and support as I should have been. After being out of it for about 15 yrs I now try to make a point to support everyone I can and help if anyone needs it. I am not a top level rider anymore and know what it feels like to struggle to win or want to win and I know that when someone takes the time to give me a complement or talk to me after I had a bad run I really appreciate it.
