Id like to start researching now but would and would like real world opinions on trailers you love and hate and why you feel that way.

Next year we will be buying a 2-3 horse slant bumper pull. Id like a front and rear tack, all aluminum, drop down windows, absolutley zero screens, only want bars. possibly even mangers, stallion divider, plenty of ventilation for these hot summers. I will be buying used most likely so want to get the most bang for my buck and get a trailer that will last me a while but wil also have a good resale value.

Why a bumper pull?

ease of hooking up and I dont haul enough or go on enough long distances to justify a gooseneck. I have a GN now and love it but in all reality its just more than I need.

Plus my best friend let me borrow her little two horse slant one day and I was spoiled for life lol

I have friends that have a beautiful big living quarter trailer (4 Star) but they have a pretty plain tongue pull which they use more times than not.  They love it.

My first nice trailer was an early 90's two horse GN Featherlite. I loved it, and it was handy as all get out. I had it 3 or 4 years and sold it for what I paid for it, without ever advertising it.

Next one I had was a late 90's 3 horse GN Elite with mangers and a dressing room. And I kick myself every single day for selling that. Hubby owned it 4 years and TRADED it for what he'd paid for it. We traded it for a bigger Bloomer, and it wasn't a bad trailer, but we went back to an Elite, and I don't think I'll ever own anything else, big or small. We got the opportunity to look around the Elite factory briefly, and they really do things right. If I was to go shopping again, I'd possibly look at Platinums, and maybe 4 Stars, but those are the only brands.

My mom does have a 3 horse BP Cimarron, and she really likes it, and it's a nice little trailer, but I'm still mad at her for not buying the little 4Star I found her that had mangers and a hayrack (on a BP!). Once you have mangers, it's hard to do without, LOL.

A couple of questions about Featherlites, Ive heard that they can be cheaply made and heard horror stories about them, but then ive also heard really good reviews on them.

And the new Exiss trailers ive heard have gone way down hill in quality. Is this true?

No matter what, get fold downs on front AND rear. Vents just don't cut it.

Some of those brands shouldn't even be in comparison to the others... First off, set a price point and if you want new or used. If used set a year that seems in good range for you. IMO 4star, Elite, and platinum are your top 3 choices. I had a sundowner bp and it was hell. Bought a brand new Elite and it has been a dream to haul.

I have a 2013 Featherlite 3 horse bumper pull that I got last year. I LOVE it!! It has drop downs on both sides, front and rear tack. The front tack is HUGE. I haven't had any problems at all with it. I've only had it a year, but it gets used several times a week and so far I have absolutely no complaints!!

I have an 08 featherlite and have no issues with it what so ever a very nice little trailer. Now it is not as nice as the 4 stars I have hauled but for the money it is a nice trailer. If I was hauling every weekend over the road I might want something a bit higher end. But I haul with in 3 hours of home mostly less then 2 and only about 10 times a year so it is perfect for me.
