Veteran Posts: 160	Yes a friend who has dealt with trauma that you wouldn't wish on your own worst enemy is doing EMDR now. She says it works great but you move through the trama quicker because it is using both sides of your brain. She typicallyis very down the next day bbecause of it, but it does wwork. Good. Luck!

Expert Posts: 1336 Location: Central Arkansas	Glad you are giving it a try! From what I remember you will be asked to think about (or remember) the traumatic event and then the therapist will have you do the eye movement part. I am sure there is more to it than this but it does work.
