Location: Ellensburg, Washington | I am so frusturated with fitting my huge shoulder, normal backed gelding. Everything I have ridden him in, Sibley, CJ, Merrill has slid back and dipped down behind his shoulders. A wide Pozzi seemed to fit ok. Looking at him without a saddle he doesn't have huge obvious dips but every saddle settles there. I have shimmed, used thick pads, thin pads, custom built, etc. I am so frusturated! I am guessing I need something with a very flared front end but what would that be? I have attached pic ofour current set up but I am using a Corrector now. I am willing to take any suggestions!

Location: The Great Northwest | He looks to have a nice normal back. I would be fitting him with different trees to see how they fit the back. I found I needed a #10 wide fit in a JJ to keep from pinching and jamming the scapula. |

| You could also look at a wither riser pad. I have been through 12 saddles and have given up. The riser pad helped tremendously. I got it at Valley Vet for $13 bucks. I know its not the best solution but it could get you by for now. I have used the classic equine shims but they didn't work either. This is the only thing that has. |

| Have had very good luck with a Pro Rider saddle by Jeremy Bethune with the 7" gullet on horses like this. It has a good rock to it, and is plenty wide for the shoulders |

Location: Fort Worth / Springtown | Every pad I put on my horse - without a saddle - slides back to his rump -- my pads don't even fit! Welcome to the club!
I've tried closed to 60 saddles on this one horse. I'm constantly evaluating saddle fit - it drives some crazy, but I think it's necessary. If I didn't see such a drastic change in performance and appearance from one saddle or pad to another, I wouldn't think as much of it.
Sherry Cervi has a video someone posted that is good - shows Stingray's back and what she does - that changes as needed.
If you've tried shimming to no avail - where do you like the saddle to stay and does the cinch align? Have you seen Len Brown (The Corrector) cinch that has rings that rotate?
Have you tried Thinline pads? I have the Ultra Thinline - which is just the "active ingredient" (not covered in felt). It is not neoprene, but it is breathable, but has a no-slip feature. If your saddle seems to fit with no pressure points, then the Ultra Thinline pad can help keep it in place underneath your reglar pad.
How thick is your pad (in this picture?). How thin is the thinnest pad you've tried with this saddle? If it is too thick in a certain area, it could be sliding back to an area it fits better, then being too wide for the front. So the twist in the tree could be the problem. (You might know all this, I'm just typing my thoughts).
Is this the Deb Sibley WIDE tree?

| I would pull your pad up into the gullet off the withers. We were having this exact same problem and found out that the saddle was actually touching his withers under the seat so when he would move, it pushed the saddle back. Just a thought |

Location: Alberta, Canada | Have you tried a #10 pozzi? It's more flared in the front than the wide. The Lynn Mckenzies are also super flared. |
