| I thought she said 14.3 and around 900lbs. How about the fan exemption. I know that its the rules that you have to dally, but still think its kind of messed up that he can't compete. I feel like that little boy may have got his hopes up or even someone who could compete now can't. |

Yes! I didn't want to be mean or sound ugly but if they can't compete, I personally think they shouldn't even be on the list. Its not fair to him or the other exemptions. He still gets to go, but if it was me I would be pretty bummed not getting to compete. Plus he's six, do you think he'll really understand the reasons why he can't rope? I saw them talk to him a few weeks ago and they asked him something and he said something like let's go rope. ( don't no the exact words) I just think its not fair to him or the others.... Okay my rant is done |

Location: The Great Northwest | He is a true exemption because he will never be able to compete at an event like The American. It is somewhat messed-up that the kid is so young to totally understand. The parents and fans are getting the gratification. |

| So the fan exemption cannot compete? Per USTRC rules? I know I heard something about him tying off instead of dallying.. |

| The RFDTV American Facebook page has the explanation. Their page is public. You don't have to have a Facebook account to view it. www.facebook.com/RFDTVTheAmerican I think the whole fan exemption thing was a bit of a cluster. I would think everyone would have known the USTRC rules and known whether this little boy could have followed those rules. Who makes the initial nominations? Those making the nominations should have known all of that. The powers that be at The American should have known as well. They could have pulled him from the nominations before his name was put in the running. Then a fan exemption would be able to compete. They are going to honor him at the event. Just another make up the rules as we go. LOL I sure do enjoy watching The American. They also address the calf roping issue from last year which still hasn't been paid.

First they (RFD-TV) portrayed it as a rule infraction with the USTPA rules that would not allow him to compete because he couldn't dally off.....Then when they got multiple comments about that , they came out with this "canned" response that they now post after every comment............
Due to safety concerns for Colton and all of our athletes, RFD-TV Events management decided Colton will not be allowed to compete. Colton will be honored as the 2016 Fan Choice Exemption and will enjoy THE AMERICAN as a VIP -- with a customized event experience fit for a superstar! The fan choice exemption promised to send an athlete to The American. This is what we are excited to provide to Colton. It will be an experience he will never forget.
