Any experience with SHOULDER injections?

I just had my horse's shoulder injected today. First time ever for this one. Vet said shoulders do not hold injections as well as other joints and they may only last 5-8 weeks. Just wondered if anyone else had been through it thanks!

Had a shoulder injected one time and it didn't really even work. Felt like it was a waste of money

It all depends on what was wrong. I think a magnet blanket or a PEMF blanket works better usually.

Good to know!! I should probably get recommendations for which blankets to look into... thanks!

I had it done once. But it was in conjunction with lower leg soreness. I love PHT, I have had others and BOT, PHT does the most in my opinion.

The horse I am running now gets both shoulders injected. He also has a PHT blanket. I think mine last 3-6 months depending on the ground and how much I run. I can tell a huge difference in his pattern after injections.

Are they injecting both the joint and the bursa? That can make a huge difference in how long the injections last.

I had a gelding with bursitis in his right shoulder. We injected it about twice a year for 2 years, also pulling fluid off as well, and after that he no longer needed it.

I had a gelding that had been sore on his front feet and had made him choppy striding on the front end. Had both shoulders injected and it made a world of difference in his stride.
