| I'm looking into becoming a farrier. With special focus on performance horses. Does anyone have a recommendation? I was looking at Kentucky farrier school pacific Coast or Tucson farrier school. Input good or bad would be appreciated. |

| Five Star Horse Shoeing School, Minco OK. Not to be confused with Oklahoma Shoing School.
Dusty Franklin is the owner and main instructor. Farriers come from all over the world to spend forge time with Dusty and his people. |

| Greetings Horses78,
As I have been a student of Tucson school of Horseshoeing, I would Not attend, George Goode is tired of horseshoeing and he will take your money and not give you the education you pay for. I would also say to stay away from Casey and Son Horseshoeing school in GA, because it is similar scenario. I am a Army veteran and these were a couple of my choices, I have heard good things about the Butler school of Horseshoeing in OK, and since we watch his video at Tucson school of Horseshoeing, I can say that it must be a better school. I don't want to go into to much detail on a online site, but I can give a lot more insight into Tucson school of Horseshoeing, if you want to know the pros and cons, email me at [email protected], and I will happily give you a more in-depth perception of this school. I hope this help if only a little.

| Thanks for your honest opinion. I haven't seen any other information about Tucson school so I am a bit apprehensive about it. |

| It is wise to be cautious, I know one other student who felt George's unfairness, and it bothered me greatly. |

| Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School in Ardmore is a good one. There is another Oklahoma Horseshoeing School in Purcell area but I know nothing about it. The one in Ardmore has been in existence since 70 or 80's. |

| Be careful about coming to Oklahoma. Despite its issues, it's a hard place to leave once you've been here a bit. I grew up all over the world, and here was a good place to put down roots. |

Doug moved to Crawford, NE from OK several years ago. Said he wanted to get out in the middle of nowhere (which it is) to make sure students focus on task, not running to town and partying every night. Seems to have worked.
A lot of the local people take horses there and all have great things to say. I gave them a horse for a case study that Doug worked with for a few years trying to get sound several years ago.
Very nice facilities.
Has students from all over the world. Literately, he has wrote the book and videos.
I have not taken any classes or know anyone who has, but being a customer on the other end, I would give 5 stars.
Good luck! |
