So I have this question...how long does your horse's breathing take to return to normal after a run?

I run 3D, he recovers quickly, by the 2 or 3 minute  walk back to the trailer he is breathing normal.  I keep him in pretty good shape

I even talk while I run to make sure I'm breathing and I'm always breathing harder than my horse!

Usually we are back to normal by the time I get off, uncinch, and start pulling boots.

So 2-3 minutes after I leave the alley.

Depends how in shape he is, but he still recovers pretty quickly even when he isnt at the top of his game. 5 mins MAX, maybe more if its super hot out.

It always took me longer then my horse to recover after a run. lol, but it should be no longer then 4 mins, I would always just walk my horses around a few mins after the run and then get off and loosing cinch and walk back to the trailer, just really depends on how hot it is, I have seen some that take a tiny bit longer because of the heat here in South Texas..
What is your horse doing OP is it taking your horse a long time to cool out?

Mine doesn't run hard enough so like 1 minute(but then again I breeze her often and her breathing returns to normal quickly too). I need to kick her butt, but I got a new horse instead.

a couple minutes when they're in tip top shape. I only have one that will even attempt to walk back to the trailer so it usually takes a little longer with the ones who drag me back to the treat jar. LOL. But really only a minute or two once they actually stop moving fast. any more than that and I'm going to go looking for a reason.
