I just need to get this off my chest for a moment. Have y'all ever sold one saddle, boight a new one, and completely regret the decision? Cause I just did that this week. The new saddle I bought is great, and it's quality, but it definitely hurts my seat bones when I ride in it. I don't know what to do. Hubby says I need to toughen up but if it's going to hurt me everytime I ride then riding not going to be any fun, ya know?

Learn from the mistake, try out different saddles, sell the one you have and buy one that fits better.

I tried out a triple creek one time, lasted less then 1 min in it, hurt my hips too much, haven't even been in one since.

If it's just sore seat bones, you'll probably get used to it.  If it's making other stuff hurt, go on and resell it.  There are saddles I can't ride because they kill my hips and I can't walk when I get off my horse--if that's the problem, it doesn't get better.

I love trading saddles! Find good reputable sites that you can trade. I did this when I had a growing colt that changed trees every few months lol

I had one for hat hurt my seat bones and it ALWAYS did. I didn’t have the money to replace it so I rode it for several years. But I wouldn’t do that again.

People these days change saddles as often as they change their underwear.

Every new saddle takes some getting used to, my new saddle made my seat bones hurt for about a week then I got used to it and think it's one of the more comfier saddles I've had. But if it hurts your joints, or doesn't get any better it's not worth the pain

This post reminds me of a Martha Josey saddle I had once. Every single time I rode in it, my seat bones (bottom of pelvis that rests on the seat), would throb and be sore to the touch for days. This never went away. I tried different stirrup lengths, etc. and it was just that saddle...and me. We were not a match. I often wonder if all of the MJ's would feel like that to me, but no way I'd ever do it again. No other saddles have ever hurt me like that one did.

It is just a saddle-sell it and find one that is comfortable!

People these days change saddles as often as they change their underwear.

They do. I research my purchases carefully because I can't afford to keep buying saddles. I have a Billy Cook saddle that I bought in 1974 new. I have three newer Billy Cooks that have a 15 inch seat. (too small but so light for riding at home)I don't use it anymore for two reasons. One, it is full tooled and slick and two, it has a 14 inch seat and I have a 16 inch butt. I think one reason that people are unhappy with a saddle is they buy a seat the is too small. I am not particularly fat My trainer weighs about 95 pounds and she rides in a 14.5. She is the one who told me I would be much happier with a 16. Just make sure you get a big enough seat. By the way it makes a HUGE difference in how you run barrels.
