Location: Central TX | who doesnt only suffer from BAD PMS, but "PMS's" all the way through their "time of the month"? About 4-5 days before and all the way through my period i am extremely irritable, depressed, ill break down crying, give up on life for a few hours a day, eat a bucket of cookie dough, I am literally like a 13 year old girl going through her first break up 2 weeks a month. This has been the case for as long as i can remember. I am actually very curious if any other women suffer from "time of the month madness" as i like to call it. It really sucks to be pis*y for a total of 6 months of the year. Is this just me? i feel like it is...

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | I would take magnesium and iron religiously and go see a doctor, he/she would prescribe something to help you and start eating a large variety of green vegetables. I have had my tubes tied since 1985. I know what it's like to yo-yo. It's all men's fault. |

| Nope...I am FULLY with you, sis. I have told my doctor that I am in a RAGE for no reason other than it's PMS through period ending time, and he was like "that's nice, dear." I told him we need to schedule the re-check during this time so that he can "experience it firsthand." I'm sure he'd change his mind. I totally know where you are coming from...I NEVER want sweets or chocolate and eat clean...when I tell my husband I want chocolate, he goes to the store and buys me whatever I want, throws it down the hallway like you were feeding a lion, and goes to hide in the garage. LOL |

Location: East Tennessee but who knows?! | Yep....And it impacts my sleep too. Try experimenting with foods and pay close attention to any subtle changes. Soy milk might help a little prior to the PMS. I can't drink it during PMS or I'll hurt old people and kids. I also agree on the magnesium and iron, but I have to back off the iron prior to as well because the cramping gets a whole lot worse. |

| You're not the only one. I have the same problem and there is actually a medical term for it called PMDD which stands for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. The basic definition of it is like, "PMS from hell lasting an extended period of time." My PMS lasts for a solid 2 weeks before my period and makes me hungry, grouchy, sleepy, irritable, and depressed. Birth control pills(Ortho-TriCyclen) does fix it....takes my PMS down to only about 2 days versus 2 weeks but unfortunately gives me HORRIBLE night sweats to the point of where I can't sleep so I am looking for other alternatives. I do take a Mg supplement but only at night because it makes me sleepy. I have a low level of estrogen(but not low enough for my doctor to treat for it) so I've started drinking soy milk to see if that helps. I didn't think about it making me worse during the 2 week PMS spells though so thanks for mentioning that Fairweather. So basically all this to say...I don't know what DOES help but you are definitely not alone! I've been on and off antidepressants for 10 years, none of which helped and had horrible side effects, but I am just now figuring out that I only have the depression symptoms during those 2 weeks so evidently my doctor(I've moved and had 3 different ones) has been treating the wrong ailment all this time. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | I only have a few days of "mild psychosis"...but still that's more than enough. My best solution was getting on the Seasonale 90 day birth control regimen. I only have to deal with the dysfunction 4 times a year rather than every single flippin month. I will NEVER go back to that! |

Location: Is it Summer Yet? | I'm like this but only for the week before. As soon as it starts I'm like oh that's the issue. Don't eat the bucket of cookies though but chocolate is not safe within a 100 mile radius. |

| Mine changes with the type of birth control I am on. I have on brand that makes me psycho more than others. I would agree with seeing a doctor to have all of your levels checked. |
